Apple Mobile Phone Deals
iPhone deals
Apples iPhone is one of the UK’s most popular range of smartphones.
Since the first iPhone was launched back in 2007 it has sold millions of phones to style conscious consumers in the UK.
With new models launched almost every year, with new and improved features each time, the iPhone is going to remain popular for many years to come.
Choosing the best iPhone deals
When choosing a new iPhone it’s important to take into account what works for you to enable you to find the best deal.
- What’s your budget? The iPhone range covers the latest models such as iPhone 14 deals, down to older models like the iPhone 11, iPhone12 and iPhone SE. The older the model the less money you’ll need to spend.
- What network do you want? Some people have very definite ideas on which network they want to go with, but for others it’s less of an issue. The more flexibility you give yourself here the more scope for finding the cheapest deals.
- How much data do you need? The more data you need the more your deal will cost. People often overestimate how much they will need, especially of most of the time their phone connects to the home or work broadband wifi connection.
- Do you want 5G? Some of the older handsets don’t have 5G capability, so only choose the newer models if this is important to you.
Which networks offer iPhone deals?
As the iPhone is so popular you can find deals on all the major networks such as:
Some of the smaller virtual networks may offer only older iPhone models, or in some cases no iPhone deals at all, in which case if you really want to go with that network you’ll need to buy your phone elsewhere and then look at SIM only deals.
Can I get an iPhone with unlimited data?
Yes there are many iPhone deals available with unlimited data.
These deals will cost more than going with one with a capped data allowance. Most people overestimate how much data they will need, so if cost is an issue then we strongly suggest looking at capped data deals to get the best value for money.
Can I get an iPhone with no upfront cost?
Yes you can get an iPhone with no upfront cost on a phone contract.
These deals will have a higher monthly payment than ones where you pay an upfront cost, simply because the network has to recoup the cost of the handset over time, the less paid upfront the higher the monthly cost will be.
What are the different types of iPhone handsets?
Apple groups its models by number in most cases, there are exceptions like the budget iPhone SE.
Current main model ranges still available are:
- iPhone 14
- iPhone 13
- iPhone 12
- iPhone 11
With each model group they usually come in a number of variations:
- Standard models - these are the standard size and features. E.g. iPhone 14, iPhone 13
- Pro Models - these are the same size as the standard models but come with additional features like uprated cameras, e.g. iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro
- Max - Max models are a larger size than other Pro models, these include iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max
- Mini - these are versions that are on smaller case sizes than the standard models. The latest of these is the iPhone 13 mini, there is no mini version of the iPhone 14.
What’s the cheapest iPhone?
The cheapest current iPhone is the iPhone SE, which is a cut down feature set and lower spec so you can get an iPhone on a budget.
Should I buy an iPhone outright or pay for it over the term of a phone contract?
Tricky question this, it really depends on your cash flow. No iPhone is a cheap iPhone, but to buy one outright if you have the cash available is always cheaper than paying for it over time as part of a contract.
If saving every last penny is your mission then maybe you shouldn’t be looking to buy an iPhone! If you still want one at the lowest possible price then save up and buy it outright.
If you want the convenience of spreading the cost out over time and don’t mind that it costs a little extra overall, then get one on a phone contract.
iPhone v Samsung, which is better?
This is a very difficult one to answer as at the end of the day you are looking at two different ecosystems.
If you are an ‘Apple person’ with a Mac as your laptop and all the other Apple products as part of your life then it really makes sense to get the iPhone as well.
Even if you aren’t a complete Apple devotee then you will find that Apple phones are very intuitive to use and very well thought out.
Samsung mobile phones (and particularly their Galaxy range) are fantastic quality, they really are iPhone like in that respect, but they run Android which is subtly different from the Apple iOS system. Some people prefer Android, but those who’ve used iOS for a long time won’t find Android as nice (well in our opinion anyway!).
Can I transfer data from Android to iPhone?
If you are taking the leap from Android phones into iPhones, then yes you can transfer data from your old Android phone into your new iPhone.
When you set up your new iPhone one of the first options you will be given is “Move Data From Android”. Simply select this option and then follow the on screen guidance and you’ll soon have everything you want moved (like contacts, picture, files etc) will be seamlessly moved over for you.
